This jump starter works as a power bank and a starter. During discharge cycle through a USB port I have measured 7212 mAh capacity at about 4.7 V, or 36 Wh of energy. It can charge my cell phone several times, but its capacity is nowhere near advertised 18000 mAh. If you switch to a 12 V discharge, the capacity becomes close to 3000 mAh, so it makes more sense to talk about Wh of energy. How about starting a car with a dead battery? I have tried it today with my 3.5 liter V6 and completely discharged down to 6 V main battery. It started right away, but the main battery was not shorted and the ambient temperature was a warm 80 deg. F (27 C). iMars definitely did not supply 800 A of current during that start and I doubt it can do it at all. Comparable starters from NOCO are much bigger and heavier, so I suspect 800A is a lie as well. Instruction manual does not say a word about starting cable with a big plug. It has a button, which most likely bypasses all safeties. Inside a plug there is a small relay. When you push the button, the output voltage becomes a little higher.
