My Roomba 530 runs for ages now. Fitted 8 off 18650s out of old laptop batteries in a 2P4S configuration. A lot better than the old Ni-Mh battery.

Q: Dear Sir, What are the type of battery cells to put inside? nickel or lithium? References?

bee.johnston These are for lithium ion cells. I have got 2 and have ordered another one today. The board is a BMS for a 4S lithium ion battery pack. I am using cells reclaimed from Dyson battery packs. The enclosure can accommodate a 2p4s 18650 battery pack. I use them on old Roombas and my battery packs last a lot longer than the standard ni-mh and I charge them using the original charger with no issues.
