glcttown Difficult to say. My dogs don't bark when I am around. I haven't adjusted the sensitivity as yet and it appears to stopping my smaller dog from barking when I pull into the driveway. Not being able to hear the ultrasonic sound or being in a position to see the alarm light nor see where the dog is in relation to the unit I cannot answer your specific question.
