It's a strong drill that only has high-rpm / lower torque gear (no selection for higher torque/lower rpm) but this has a drawback: If it slows down in RPM due to increased friction it starts smelling. So it needs to be used in a way that ensures fast rotation all the time, no slowing down for more than a few miliseconds, otherwise it starts smelling. Having said that, it's quite powerful compared to others I've used if I compare the others to their high-rpm gear. This seems to have more torque in its high rpm. I would give 5 stars if I could just use it without baby-sitting it regarding cases that make it spin slower due to friction.

alekshs@BG521053834 manual,page 10, it has the various protection ranges... it says charging low temp protection 0 /-5C, discharge high temp protection 70c ( /-5), discharge low temp protection doesn't exist. Charge temp protection at 50 /-5C, drops to 50C and restart charging.

So far so good. Replaced the original 88VF from a portable mini chainsaw that had issues (the battery was stopping after a few seconds). This battery works far more powerfully and doesn't have such issues with stoppage. Apparently 10 cells are better than 5. Who would have guessed :P As for the mAh, I don't know if the capacity is real or not, I can't measure it.

Gear change from 1 to 2 is sticky sometimes, the switch is flimsy... and despite being makita-compatible, it's kind of stiff when trying to put the battery on. I haven't done any heavy duty work, just drilled some concrete holes in normal and hammer mode, it works ok. In hammer it was pretty easy to make holes but it makes more noise.

I'm using this primarily to mix concrete in buckets... it is powerful and does the job but if the mix is "heavy" and the drill is getting tired from doing 2-3 buckets in a row, you can smell that something is overheating/burning inside... I've also used it with a smoothing disc to smooth concrete surfaces. It worked ok.

Ι got it today tested using the connection in the photo below... AMPs and Volts measurement direct on the exit of the controller. Way of spinning: TOPshak TS-ED1 drill at high speed (~1400 rpm claimed). I got 4.6 Amps @ 1.1volts. This is not a typo. It's 1.1, not 11. I will have to test with a battery too. However things DON'T look promising.

alekshs Update: Connected with 2 lead 200AH batteries and measuring charger output, while spinning with the drill: Charger got up to 2.56A, at around 13v at that time, which makes up about 33.28 watts performance: Please note this \"performance\" was at MAX DRILL RPM. At \"speed 1\" of the TOPShak drill it gave 0.00 amps (!). Compared to \"400W constant output\" it needs another ~370 watts to reach that claim, and another 770w to reach \"800w max\" claim.

I've got the 2200w 24v, 4000w 24v and now I bought the 4000w 12v. The efficiency of the 4000w/12v is as follows: 71.5w 220v load is actual 85.15w on the battery at 13.1v (84%eff) 985w 220v load is actual 1180w on the battery at 12.47v at 94.7A (83.5% eff) The 4000w 24v was more efficient in higher loads, over 90%. For low loads, like 20-50-100w, it was an almost constant 15w loss.

Item (2200w) came hit / bent on the aluminum frame and it has apparently come in contact with water because the contacts and the screws had a ton of rust on them. Despite these issues it seems to work although it was a bit dangerous trying it, after knowing it has probably been in water. I also bought the 4000w version a few months ago which came OK. After 10 days the fan started growling (lubrication issue?). I haven't tried the ground on the 2200w but on the 4000w version there seems to be a grounding issue, meaning if you ground the chassis it doesn't do anything for 220v connected devices (they are effectively ungrounded). I found the hard way when I got hit by touching a shucko ground (they always protrude) on a multi-socket cable. Probably the 2200w is the same. I'll try some day. I had to insert a wire in the grounding output of the universal socket of the inverter and then send it to the ground so that when a plug is plugged in to the inverter socket, it can send to the ground bypassing the frame - since the frame grounding did nothing. I actually bought the 2200w in the hopes it has lower idle consumption with zero load but the differences are small (both 24v models)... like 7w (2200) vs 8-9w (4000w). Photos from the rust and bend of the 2200w version.

Problem working with Sony HX-80. It goes up to MP4 and AVCHD but can't work on the superior XAVC S HD requiring U1/Class 10. This is not detected as such. I have a kingston that works great but this doesn't. I've bought two of them, so money down the drain x2.
