cavey Yeah, for ease of use. Keep the black wire, and remove the two outer reds. You can just depin the board side, and gently slice off the outer part of the connector on the charger side. Takes some soft shaving to get a snug fit in your charger balance port, and then you're good to go.

If your charger dont have 8S lead connector just cut the 2 last wires from the balance leads and part of the connector. It has built in fuses and works well.

cavey Took me a while too, but: switch needs to be set to G5-G7 (2nd position from the "top", where top is the usb side), and you need to hook everything up BEFORE starting FPV Freerider. After everything is on and connected you can calibrate and it should detect everything perfectly fine. Works for my FS-i6 this way.

Instructions as to how to set the USB switch properly or how to troubleshoot the USB connection are non-existant. I simply couldn't get my software (Freerider FPV) to register 4 stick channels (the best I could get was throttle on a dial, which is near useless).
