martinhag I'm quite sure Banggood has identified the problem here. I had the same experience: I inserted 3 AAA batteries and the torch didn't work.Then I remembered that I had to remove the extension tube to shorten the torch. Now it works like a charm. :-)

Fitted three new batteries, light did not work. Checked the connections, and the switch is poorly-designed; the battery holder is not properly sprung and flops around in the case, making no connection.
