NelsonC I had a similar experience with a XANES device similar to this. It looks like the motherboard is identical to the XANES based on the input ports. Notice there is one sliding switch on one side, and two on the opposite side. I suggest the lonely switch is the ON/OFF. The other side has two. One must be the Video ON/OFF switch. I suggest it is the one closer to the slot where the TF card goes. The switch next to the Video is the STOP/RECORD switch. So, given this, here is what one should do: 1) decide if you want Video or Audio only. Set the Video switch to ON or OFF accordingly. 2) Turn on the device, hold the ON/OFF 2-3 secs. (a blue light should be visible on one side of the device) 3) Start recording by sliding the last switch STOP/Record. Hope this helps.
