This electric toothbrush is driven by a transducer type motor, the same as those used by the higher end Philips Sonic Care series electric toothbrushes, however this is where the difference ends. I own the Philips DiamondClean model to make the comparison. Firstly the good points, the Lebond M1 is generally a well designed and well built model and you can see very clearly where the design cues are inspired from. It has a built in 2 minute timer with 30 seconds interval pauses to indicate the change of brushing sectors. Operation is very simple with a on and off switch that comes with a simple power and charging indicator Red/Green LED. The charging base is quite conventional and charging is by induction coil. The strength of the vibration as a pro here is that it is gentle enough that it won't hurt young children. You will have to change to a smaller brush head as the original brush head is too big, I had to modify a generic brush head to fit by drilling a bigger hole. Now for the negative. As the marketing speak explained that the M1 uses a transducer for vibrations instead of a micro dc motor, I expected the power of the vibrations to be strong. I would say the vibration strength is about 1/3 compared to the DiamondClean. There is only one speed/power setting. There is only one brush size and young children can't use the tooth brush unless you use a modified brush head. The cleaning action is fairly gentle and although the brush bristles does flex quite vigorously, about 3 to 5mm as advertised, once you put it against your teeth, you don't feel much cleaning action going on. I would say not to press too hard against the teeth, but hold the bristles tips just touching the surface of the teeth to get a good clean. You get what you pay for here, the Diamond Clean costs 3 to 4 times as much. So it is not much of a fair comparison, the Diamond Clean also comes with a myriad of features and accessories. The toothbrush still works as advertised, but in terms of cleaning efficiency, it doesn't match up to the leading brand in the market.
