The kit arrived well packed and promptly. Some confusion over the electrolytic caps (do not go by the photos) the hashed marking is negative corresponding to the negative bar on the cap. The four small screws are not needed as the assembled case holds everything tightly. As mentioned, there is instability above 12 volts which I will investigate as it should work at 10 to 26 volts by the datasheet. Maybe a 0.1 bypass cap between Vcc and Gnd. I power it through a Banggood (1038740) DC-DC Step Down LCD Power Module, also a very good functional kit. A set of DC Power 5.5x2.1mm Connectors (998683) makes a very professional looking setup.

mazevedo Saw your notes too late. The 100uF capacitor exploded. Hope there's no more serious damage to the board. Now I'll have to reverse the capacitors.
