This is actually not an issue, you can change it with a little soldering. Distance is well over 50 meters, and pulling the small antenna has only little effect (just a few meters more). Standby current for the receiver is relatively high, around 6 milliamps, and during relay switching it rises to 36 milliamps. Finally, the close time for the relay is about 1 sec, no matter how long you press the remote, so this is also misleading in the description.
