WOW! A big step up from the Mi Band 6. The much larger display now has animated graphics and screens that scroll over the top of each other from top to bottom. As a word of warning be very careful purchasing straps from some of the other well know Chinese stores! Many are advertising Mi Band 7 straps, then shipping out old 5/6 ones that do NOT fit properly. Shipping from Banggood was quick and efficient. No issues to report there.

Geoff The IR LED's are hidden behind the front facia and turn on automatically when required. No mystery. LOL

Geoff Itworks fine with other Digoo Weather stations, such as DG-TH8380. The default channel is '1', so it's just a case of switching the original sensor to '2' or '3'

Don't buy it if you want to use it as an additional sensor. It works on the same channel as the one you get with the weather station and there is no channel switch on it.

Unbelievably good for such a low price! Banggood have the cheapest price of ANY of the Chinese stores selling this weather station. It can use up to four sensors (including the built in one) and displays both temperatures above and below freezing. I have attached one sensor to my Solar panels and another inside my freezer. Geoff Definitely NO. A battery will supply far too many amps and destroy it immediately. I'm a qualified technician and know what happens!

As ever, Xiaomi have continued to improve and upgrade features on their latest Mi Band wristband. The full face screen now has ample space to display many of the functions, without having to scroll through menus. One of best improvements (in my opinion) is the option to turn the screen on by a single swipe of the screen, rather than a touch. This stops annoying activation whilst sleeping - as I'm sure many of you endure with earlier models. The new Blood/Oxygen feature is also a nice tool, given the dark days of Covid that we're now living in. Note that straps for the Mi Band 5 fit the 6, but earlier models are completely different. There's a price to pay! The much brighter and larger screen has reduced battery life to about 14 days (if you're a light user). With all health features turned on, this is reduced to less than seven! With the old charging method, this would have been an issue, but with the magnetic charging lead (same as the Mi Band 5), it's a quick and easy process that doesn't spoil the experience.

The built-in IR app will not work and external apps downloaded from Google Play Store say the is no IR head installed. :-(

Be aware that the socket size is MUCH larger than that of most small Japanese scooters/motorbikes. It also has two locating lugs and most bikes only have one. Not really what I was expecting from the description, and very disappointed that I can't use it.
