This is an excellent replacement gear for the 124017 v1. No cogging issues at all, but you lose a little acceleration. Really enjoying a cog-free experience now :)

I'm rather disappointed with my first experience with Banggood. I feel deceived with the description listed for the 124017 as I thought upgraded version meant version 2, otherwise, I would not have bought it. The car has serious cogging issues just like I had seen on youtube. I made sure that I had selected the new version, but they are saying it's only if you buy it from China. PLEASE make it more obvious in the title!!!!! I am not returning the item as they want me to ship it to China, which is about 1/4 of the cost of the car. I am not going to try and fix the cogging either, so I'm just going to live with it. Live and learn.

These do not spin as freely as the original and the screws are threaded all the way to the red area and sticks out.

Q: Is there a way to stop it from cogging at low speeds? I am concerned because it sounds like the pinion gear is getting damaged.

BG171632015 Ijust got mine today and it is cogging really bad. The reviews online have a few fixes, but it's beyond what I want to perform on a brand new car. You can get a programmable card, or change out the hardware which in my opinion is a pain.
