this is my second pair of micsig differential probes; the first one being the older model DP10013. the new model is much nicer to work with since the leads are shielded and don't have to be twisted. i compared the resolution and handling and found no big difference. there is one thing i prefer on the older model: the box with the diff amp on the older model is connected with a short lead to the scope. on the new model, it attaches directly to the scope's BNC, adding some weight, stiffness and leverage. according to murphy's law, the question is not IF the box will someday be hit by something and rip the BNC socket right out of the scope – the question is only WHEN this will happen. if i had ONE wish, it would be something else, though: the same probe, but with 1:1 and 1:10 attenuation for small signals. 1:50 and 1:500 is fine for sticking the probe in your wall outlet (and be shocked how the ugly the supposedly perfectly sinusodial wave looks that we call 50 Hz powerline…), but too much for probing in low level balanced audio signals. other than that, excellent build quality and very good value for money. highly recommended.
