Q: Any trick to getting the watch to talk to the app? I have Bluetooth on and try to connect with the app but it never shows up. I try restarting. I try pairing through Bluetooth menu, nothing works.

Between the set they work ok. They didn't play well with my other radio, though it IS over 10 years old. BFT3 to G15 you have to practically have the mic in your mouth to have any audio make it. G15 to BFT3 is fine, BFT3 to BFT3 is fine. I tested it at about 1500 feed in an urban environment and had no problems. The instructions were surprisingly not poorly translated. There aren't many settings, but you can adjust the what you need. I needed a cheap loaner radio I wouldn't be upset to never get back. At only $10 you are hard pressed to find anything that can touch it. Not a bad size, not a bad weight. It's fits in your hand easy enough. It's not so small it feels like a toy. It's not so big you feel like a cop from the 70'. The plastic feels like every other radio I own.
