Installation on my tandem took just a couple of hours. I replaced the supplied brake disk with my larger one. I had to fit the speed controller on the left, as there was no room on the right because of my NuVinci gear controller. I had to saw off a small protruding mudguard mount lug to allow the battery to plug in. A quick road test, and the bike still worked – and stopped - OK, and the extra weight at the front wasn’t noticeable in use. The iMortor2 app on my phone immediately detected the system and asked for the password. It’s 6666 as in the picture – not zeroes as in the text! I had a quick solo trial and the motor was working. On a flat road with no pedalling it slowly accelerated from about 7mph to just over 14mph over about 300m. It was still slowly accelerating when I had to stop for the junction. I repeated the test 2-up today after our ride, and this time it only managed to accelerate from about 6mph to just over 9mph. The manual says the max rider weight is 180Kg. Well 180Kg is a pretty fat cyclist, and I think that’s a bad translation and it means the total all-up weight of bike + rider(s) is 180Kg. In that case we’re close to the limit. We set off this morning up a hill and powered up to see the effect. None noticeable. So we won’t be powering up hills with our feet on the handlebars! Later I tried powering against slopes and headwinds. Nothing seems to happen when I turn on the motor, but after a while we find we’re going a bit faster and the pedalling is getting easier. Looks like it should be good to ease the final stages of a ride when you’re tired and the wind’s in your face. Today we cycled 20 miles and used about 75% of the battery, although I didn’t think I used it very much. I expect using full power up hills was the problem because of our overall weight. Well, it does what it does, and is OK for the price. It would work a lot better on a lighter bike. I love gadgets, so I’m happy! 😊

This presented a couple of challenges -- there were no instructions at all, and it didn't work! It's a bit bulky, but to be fair it does have 3 functions. I couldn't find any indications about batteries on the unit, but I decided it wasn't heavy enough to have any inside, and so I undid the 3 silver screws on the back, and removed the panel to reveal an empty (except for a red plastic arrow) compartment for 4 AA batteries. With batteries, the display and laser then worked, but the measure string was stiff to move and wouldn't return. So I undid 4 more (black) screws to split the unit into 2, then I could see it had been shocked in transit and some parts of the mechanism had been displaced. I replaced the wheels correctly and the measurement cord then worked OK. I then understood the mysterious red arrow in the battery compartment was supposed to be clipped to the panel to protect the batteries from the spring clip. Now it all works fine! (After spending 5 min working out what the buttons do and how to get it to measure in metric units) I'm still not convinced by the cord function. I think a normal tape measure is easier to read than a digital display. However the laser measurement works OK, and the distance wheel looks very handy. It does what I wanted for measuring round curves and slopes. This is not the best tool of its type I've seen, but superior ones were way more expensive. This is about what I would expect at the price and once again BG scores on "bang for buck" Would have been even better with some basic instructions and if it worked without needing repair!

All my relations were boring me with how many steps were being recorded on their expensive fitness trackers, so I couldn't believe the low price of this one -- which also has a "proper" watch face for telling the time. It took a long time to arrive on the slow boat from China -- but free delivery, so who's complaining! ;-) I've been using it a few days and the performance has far exceeded my expectations. Battery life is really good. I think I should recharge tomorrow after 4 days' use (Other people's expensive trackers need recharging more often ;-) ) Screen brightness needs to be set to max for outside, but lower for night. It's not too easy to change the brightness -- but displays of expensive trackers are invisible outside! Very easy to pair with the app. However the emailed link wanted me to sign in again to my Google account, which I didn't like. I cancelled and searched for the app on Google Play & it loaded normally. The one downside is the app is a bit simple compared to the expensive trackers. You only get today's stats -- there's no history. Never mind, I also have Excel! The unit also measures heart rate (which I understand) and blood pressure and blood oxygen (I don't understand how it does them using an optical sensor) Amazingly, the blood pressure results are not too different from a measurement with a normal instrument. So now I am able to challenge the 10000 step bores and also hit them back with my BP & blood oxygen as well! AND I can see the time! :-) :-) :-)
