Q: Hi, I am very interested in buying this item but need to ask something please. If I use it on the floor to detect leakages in water pipes, up to what DEPTH does it show you what's underneath? Water Pipes can be between 10 to 15cm buried under the floor surface. Will this camera show up to that depth please?

Richard Schubach The HT-175 does not have penetrating power, it detects differences in surface temperatures only. If the leak does not change the surface temp of that part of the floor it will not be detected.

Richard Schubach This thermal imager only shows the difference in temps of it's field of view. If the "broken" underfloor pipe does not change the surface temp of that part of the floor it will not be imaged. The HT-175 images differences in surface temperatures only, does not have "penetrating" power.
