This is a MUST HAVE flashlight for a careful owner. I'll explain why it's a nust have and why you need to be careful. This flashlight has the most abundant features of all the flashlights you can get for money as I know. I've been researching middle/high class flashlights for a few weeks before I bought this one so I'm familiar with the features of the most popular and praized ones. I do also own a dosen of good flashlights. So the best is how many user interfaces are to choose from. By default it's in the ramping mode, which is realized decently. Ramping speed is quite good and linearity of the change is also acceptable, although could be better near the dimmer edge. Glowing button is also a nice touch and battery voltage checking funtion could be very useful. machining/material quality is good and appearence is nice too, but this flashlight does not come without drawbacks. The most frustrating is that I could not check the full intensity output modes with my new iitokala NCR18650B protected cells which are pretty decent. Each time the power gets too high, the protection circuitry of the cell or the flashlight itself shuts the device off. Only after loosening and tightening the tailcap can the flashlight become operational again. This fact is quite normal considering the power of the flashlight, but wrong here is that the manufacturer recommends using protected cells as per included instructions. Provided that better than average cells can't fuel this flashlight, manufacturer should also have listed the acceptable ones. I had thought this monster would be needing unprotected IMR cells and I had already checked that the flashlight had a low voltage shutdown feature, so I ordered 10/15A and 25/35A poweful batteries beforehand, but they are still in transit... And when they arrive I must be very careful again because instruction says after the voltage drops below 2.8V and the power shuts down automatically, the drainage of the current from the battery will still continue so the cell must be removed to keep it from overdischarging. That's why you must be careful with this otherwise feature rich flashlight. It wouldn't be even a slightest headache to the developers to implementa complete shutdown mode so minus one star for not doing that.

BG573217381 Areyou sure they remain on? I have a much brighter flashlight with cree leds and after turning off from bright setting, they too still glow, but I think it's because of phosphorescence of luminofor used in white leds. If it decays over time then you shouldn't worry about it.
