Q: This device is not recognised as a USB device. I've tried different USB cables in windows and linux and it won't appear in USB devices. The list of USB devices (for windows in device manager and for linux in ls dev/tty*) simply does not change when I connect it! Does anyone know what the problem is?

Galbin I bought three, and have the same problem with all of them....I finally figured out that you CAN program them via the Tx Rx pins, using an external USB-UART device like the one used for the Arduino Micro. If you go this way, be sure the upload speed is set to 115200, and the GPIO0 and GPIO2 pins are connected to ground BEFORE you power up the device, and keep them grounded during the programming process. You can then upload your sketch, and it should connect to the USB-UART com port. The upload might fail a number of times with an arcane error message. Just click on upload each time this happens and it will go further and further into the upload, and eventually you WILL be successful.
