Q: Once the set temperature is reached, does it turn the heater off or does it dim it to keep the temperature stable ?

Ronaldsneek If temperature is reached unit turns the heater off, If temerature is below the programmed temperature it will turn the heater on again. It is not self modumating, that happens only if the thermostat and the heater are from the same brand.
