Did nt attach to the shoe of my nikkon camera.

When this product was first loaded with 4 fully charged lithium ion cells (Meco #14500) its lights came on very brightly, smoke came out of parts of it, and the burning stink was horrible. There was no explosion or sound of any kind. I could not control the unit with the switch and the only way I could stop the self destruction was to take the yellow battery cover off and shake the 4 cells out. The case of this unit is still warm as I write this Complaint. Testing of the cells showed no damage, and that all four were still fully charged. This product is a total loss. I have no idea why it behaved this way.
