I found the head rarely, if ever, clogs, but when backing out the filament, don't ever pause, just keep the button pressed until it comes out. The extruder doesn't seem like it has a lot of driving force, almost seems like it's underpowered. But it extracts fairly quickly. Ultimately I got the pen for "gluing" PLA parts together. And for that purpose it works extremely well. It heats up in half a minute.
