Bought 10 m4x10mm wood inserts. They look all the same, no weird marks or scratches or weird shapes, which is a good sign. They don't seem fragile. You can screw them in using an Allen key (or hex key) size 4 metric or 5/32 SAE. The internal thread doesn't go all the way, the top doesn't have threads so the allen key can be inserted. Be aware this is not the recessed 'E' type in the product description. It is the 'D' type with the flange. Also they were packed individually not in a pack of 5. I wonder if I was sent the wrong SKU? Despite the above comments the component can be screwed flush, at least in to soft wood. Quality of the component is very good.
