This amplifier is complete and worked very well in a TRF radio receiver designed here. I replaced the trim pot with a chassis mounted volume control. If I were to build another (which I will) I would simply wind the trim pot for maximum gain and place a volume control on the input connector. Easy to use. There is also provision on the PCB for the components needed to bring the gain up from 20 to 200. I did not use that facility.

Small, X200 gain audio amp. You can remove R1 to get X30 Gain. Surface mount LM386 good only for about 1/2 watt.
