Have You experienced Your soldiering iron not being able to heat the working piece enough to melt the tin? Ordinary soldiering irons are smth like 80W, which is quite sufficient for smaller/thinner working pieces, but You will eventually run out of heat. What happens next, is You heat the tin, and let that drip onto the working piece. This gives a bad solder, which just might work, but usually not. Enter this 300W iron.
