Just a "heads up", I bought this to display from the hdmi port on my laptop to a display port in my monitor, this setup doesn't work with this cable. I tested it from a display port on another laptop to a hdmi monitor and it works fine so it seems that it cannot be used the other way around. In short, don't buy this if you want to do HDMI => Display Port

If your mini-pc/gfx card has only DisplayPort outputs, this is a great adapter for older 1080p monitor or TV. Note that it doesn't support 1440p or higher, I tested and it didn't work.
