This is a solid magnifier. Magnification isn't quite as high as listed but it is clear pretty much to the edge of the viewer. A good piece with a nice case.

I was a little surprised how large it actually is when you hold it in your hand. It's very heavy, and has a robust metal design. The very large glass lens gives a nice clear magnification, making it perfect for inspecting solder joints, looking at flowers or insects, or geological features in rocks. Unfortunately there are a couple of design flaws that might make it unsuitable for heavier use in harsh environments.
